Authentication / TOOL PROFILE

Auth0.

Add authentication and authorization to applications.

About Auth0

Auth0 is a developer-focused identity platform for adding authentication, authorization, and user management to web, mobile, desktop, and API-based applications. It provides hosted and API-driven identity workflows so teams can support secure sign-up and login experiences without building every identity feature, token flow, recovery process, and security control from scratch. Auth0 supports common login methods including username and password, social identity providers, enterprise single sign-on, passwordless email or SMS, passkeys, and other modern authentication options. Universal Login provides a hosted authentication experience that can be branded and customized, while embedded approaches give teams more control over how identity flows appear inside their own application. The platform is built around standards and developer integrations, including OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, SAML, JSON Web Tokens, SDKs, APIs, and framework-specific libraries. Teams can use Auth0 to authenticate users, issue tokens for APIs, manage sessions, connect external identity providers, and define access rules for applications and services. Auth0 includes security capabilities such as multi-factor authentication, bot protection, breached-password detection, step-up authentication, and configurable login policies. Its Actions system lets developers extend identity flows with serverless functions for tasks such as adding custom claims, checking account conditions, integrating with internal systems, performing risk checks, or applying organization-specific logic during authentication. For business-to-business products, Auth0 Organizations provides tools for representing customers, partners, and other groups with organization-aware login and access workflows. User management features can support onboarding, profile updates, directories, migration from existing user stores, and progressive profiling. Auth0 is a strong fit for teams that want a managed identity layer with broad protocol support, flexible login experiences, and integrations across modern application stacks. Pricing, quotas, and feature availability vary by plan, so teams should review Auth0’s current plans and documentation before selecting it for production use.
